WHAT IS ELF ON THE SHELF?
A special spy is sent to your home from the North Pole as part of the Christmas tradition known as “Elf on the Shelf” to persuade children toward good behavior. Santa’s small helper is supposed to keep an eye on the kids throughout the day and travel back to the North Pole each night to report on their good or bad behavior.
BASIC ELF ON THE SHELF RULES
There are only two requirements for the Christmas tradition. First off, touching the elf by a kid will cause it to lose its power. According to the official Elf on the Shelf website, kids should send Santa a letter of apology if they accidentally touch an elf and sprinkle some cinnamon next to it before bedtime.
The elf will not speak or act while the children are awake, according to the second rule of the Elf on the Shelf tradition. When returning to the North Pole, the elf only moves at night. It then takes up a new place in the house when it gets back.
