Free printable birthday cards are a wonderful way to brighten someone’s day and are a lower-cost alternative to high priced store-bought cards. There are so many creative and beautiful printable birthday cards available online it would be silly not to start sending some of these out to those who have a birthday coming up.
WHY SEND A BIRTHDAY CARD?
I miss the days of opening the mail and finding handwritten letters and cards. As an avid scrapbooker, I love touching paper and getting something special in the mail.
Although birthday greetings on Facebook are nice…knowing someone planned a few days ahead and actually mailed me a card says SO MUCH!
You never know what someone might be going through in their personal life and receiving a card from you for their birthday might make a huge difference in their day or even week.
HOW DO I PRINT A BIRTHDAY CARD?
If you have never used free printable birthday cards, don’t worry, it is very easy to do.
Most blogs or websites will give you some basic directions and tips for printing off the card.
Here are some tips that should help too:
- Use a color printer to print the card because most printable birthday cards will have some colored graphics on them. I love using HP printers
with Instant Ink! It saves me so much money on ink costs.
- Print the card on good quality cardstock. White cardstock
usually works the best unless the card creator specifically suggests another color. I always keep white on hand for printing cards.
- Fold the card according to the creator’s directions.
- Buy some basic card envelopes
in different sizes that will work for a variety of cards. This will allow you to be ready to pop a card in an envelope and send it right off.
- Get some fun and colorful stamps to use for your birthday cards.
- Add a happy birthday sticker
to the back of the card as an added bit of fun.
- Write a nice meaningful message to the card recipient instead of just signing your name. Everyone loves to read a nice message!
